The American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) annually awards the Gold
Leaf Award to the component that best symbolizes excellence in component
leadership, member development, communication, education services, and
community relations. This year this prestigious award was presented to the
Massachusetts Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses, or MASPAN. WE WON! I was
very proud to accept this award at our National Conference in Orlando this past
week.
I wanted to thank all of our members for their assistance in winning this award.
Without our members, and without our certified members, MASPAN would never
have been successful in the quest for this honor. Thank you for your continued
membership and your pursuit of excellence in obtaining certification.
The Gold Leaf Award and the completed application will be on display at our fall
conference, September 9th, at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA. Please note that this
conference is free to all MASPAN members.

MASPAN Brings Home the Gold! MASPAN Named ASPAN Component of the Year 2005 |
On May 1, 2006, as a perfect start to the ASPAN
National Conference in Orlando, Florida, MASPAN was
named as the ASPAN Gold Leaf Component of the Year.
As ASPAN celebrated its 25th Anniversary led by
President Meg Beturne; the award ceremony was even
more meaningful as our own Meg was present as
MASPAN President Maureen McLaughlin accepted the
award from Membership and Marketing Chair Jane Lind.
Very special thanks and congratulations to Maureen
McLaughlin, without her determination and dedication
to proving that MASPAN was the best, this award would
have never come to fruition.
And of course, congratulations and thanks to all the
MASPAN membership, without your support, dedication
